The first step is often the most challenging! If you've never been to therapy, you may not know what to expect. If you've been to therapy before, you may dread starting over again with someone new. Beginning a healing journey can be scary, but it's so worth it. Let us guide you to transforming your life! Here are some commonly shared concerns about attending therapy.
Yes! We offer a free 10 minute consultation to answer any questions or concerns you may have. You can call the office or send an email. You should expect a response within 24 hours.
There doesn't have to be anything wrong to start therapy! Talking with someone before a problem arises is preventative care at its finest. However, if you are experiencing unpleasant feelings/symptoms, or your current daily functioning is being affected, it may be time to start therapy.
Therapy is a commitment and typically requires 6-12 sessions before you are able to see a change. After your initial intake session, your therapist will develop a treatment plan that will outline how many sessions you may need dependent on achieving your goals and treatment outcomes.
When booking an appointment, you will need a debit/credit card to secure an appointment. You will not be charged until your session is complete. Your card may also be charged if you "no-show" or "late cancel". You will also need all of your current demographic information and possibly your insurance card or EAP authorization number.
We are licensed in the state of Texas and can service all of Texas through Telehealth (Virtually).
Clients have the option to do Telehealth and/or in-person counseling. Clients must wear a mask or facial covering.
When a client books, they can first expect an intake session, which will involve an intake assessment, client expectations and goals, and effective, individualized treatment planning.
This is to your discretion but most clients bring a tablet and pen.
Sessions are confidential, meaning what you disclose will be between you and the therapist UNLESS you disclose you are actively a threat to yourself or someone else's safety. If so, the therapist may contact the mental health crisis line or 911 to assist with further assessment.
Your therapist can provide letters or fill out forms for you. There is an additional $65 document fee for filling out forms.
**Documents are only filled out for active clients who have attended a minimum of 6 sessions.**
Homework is often given after each session to help the client process what was discussed in the session.
As long as funds are available on the card, we can use it.
